56th Army Band Mace

Symbolism
The distinctive unit insignia of I Corps is inscribed on the crown within a laurel wreath.  The name I CORPS ARMY BAND appears on the designation band.  Below the designation band are thirteen stars on top of thirteen flutes issuing from band where the mace head and staff conjoin.  The thirteen stars represent the original 13 colonies and our national heritage.
